UPDATE NEW GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION FOR APPOINTMENTS
When you require an appointment please contact us either by phone, e-consult or in person.
You will no longer be asked to CALL BACK AT 2PM and appointments will be allocated based on CLINICAL NEED NOT FIRST COME FIRST BASIS. Please be prepared to share some details with reception for the reason of the appointment. This will help us allocate you a timely appointment
If your need is clinically urgent it should be assessed on the same day by a telephone or face-to-face appointment. If you contact the practice in the afternoon you may be assessed on the next day, where clinically appropriate.
If your need is not urgent, but it requires a telephone or face-to-face appointment, this should be scheduled within two weeks
Where appropriate, you will be signposted to self-care or other local services (eg community pharmacy or self-referral services).
All appointments can be made in person, by telephone or online. Consultations are by appointment and can be booked by telephoning 020 8491 3303 at 08.00am.
We are offering patients face to face consultations based on your medical needs.
Please be prepared to discuss brief details of your medical problem with the receptionist, who can then book you into the most appropriate type of appointment. This will either be a face-to-face appointment or a telephone appointment or where appropriate sign posted to local services.
We offer some 'pre - bookable' appointments which are for routine reviews and can be booked 2 weeks in advance.
We offer 'on the day' appointments for which you need to call or come into the practice on the day if you wish to be seen and we will do our best to provide you an appointment.
If you need an urgent appointment please call the same number and make it clear to the receptionist. You may be offered a telephone consultation with a GP, who will call you to triage your condition. Wherever necessary a slot will be made available for you so be prepared to come in at short notice.
Please book a separate appointment for each member of the family who needs to see a Doctor, Nurse or Health Care Assistant (HCA).
Online Appointments/Flexible Appointments
We offer flexible appointments, with our Online services allowing advanced booking and on the day appointments alongside a range of alternative appointments to suit your busy lifestyle. Before you can use the online appointments you will need to contact reception in person to obtain your username and password. If you require a telephone consultation or you require a double appointment then please contact the reception staff to make these bookings and please do not use the online appointments for these.
If you have not seen your GP in the last three years we would encourage you to make an appointment with one of our practice nurses for a health check.
When booking an appointment you may choose which doctor to see, however this will be subject to the availability of that particular doctor on the day you require an appointment.
Nurse Appointments
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.
Telephone Consultations
We are actively offering on the day telephone consultations with a GP, as opposed to routine surgery appointments. The GP will call you back to discuss your medical condition and offer you advice, treatment or a face to face consultation, if necessary. These telephone appointments can be booked with reception.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. As for the online appointments there the option of cancelling your appointment online.
SMS TEXT MESSAGING
If you would like confirmation of your appointment via SMS text message, we will
- require your upto date mobile telephone number. Please ring reception on 0208 491 3303 to update your records.
- We send text reminders to our patients regarding their appointments. Please ensure that you provide us with your current number.
- If you do not want to receive a text from the practice please inform our admin team.
